Desperate Working Mommas
Your one-stop site for fanatical television snarking, questionable political analysis, occasional attempts to address the parenting issues facing working mothers, and halfhearted promises to stop obsessing about the entertainment industry, already! Oh, not to mention the random bitching and moaning. There's always that.
Tuesday, August 30, 2005
Except for ending slavery, fascism, Nazism, and communism, war has never solved ANYTHING!

Okay, besides the "fanatical television snarking" and the "random bitching and moaning," I also promised "questionable political analysis," so I am just going to go ahead and blurt this out:

Cindy Sheehan? SHUT. UP.
Liberty cannot exist passively. By all accounts, your son KNEW this.
The Grief Pimping must stop.
Go home, woman, and get the grief counseling you so desperately need.
Oh, and stop slamming American Idol, yo? I mean, honestly.

That is all.

So far, to date, this post has got to be the best political commentary on this subject I have ever read.

I have to say that I agree that Cindy Sheehan does need to go home and get grief counseling. She is a very sad momma who has found an outlet for that grief, and people are listening. Her interview on MPR was distressing because she sounded stressed out, not too educated, and sad. I don't know if she intended to be a national protester or if she just wanted the president to listen to her broken heart. I think we can all understand how empty she feels without her son. If any of us lost our child, God forbid, we would probably want answers, too. You are right that war is a way to end horrible injustices, but what do you think this one is hoping to end? Terrorism? Do you really think that it will end if we "win" the war? I swear, I am not trying to start some s*&! with you, I (heart) all your postings and I am wicked jealous of mrtl because she gets to be your real life friend, I'm just feeling all democrat loving right now.

William: Dude. Wow. Thanks.

Ladybug: I KNOW, right?!

Silly NSN Mom! Your comment is articulate and respectful. Well-done! I never said anyone had to AGREE with me and my political analyses. That's the beauty of free speech.

Well... I'm pretty sure that I heard on NPR that she had been to the White House and had received an apology already... but then decided that it wasn't good enough. Anyone else hear this?? She is now nothing but a political pawn being used by both sides, and she doesn't even know it.

I agree with you Cat. What makes her better than anyone else who has lost a loved one in this war that she should AGAIN meet with the President?

I would just like to point out that I am Cat's real life friend, too. I think so, anyway. No, I KNOW so. Right? Right.

Mmm-kay, that is all.

Wait, no it's not. I would like to add that I would go to the extremes that Cindy Sheehan has in an effort NOT to meet with Bush. He makes me angry and I refuse to share a room with people who make me angry. And what about him makes her think he would actually listen to her anyway? I'm just saying.

kalki, I am hereby admitting that I am also jealous of you, too. =) And I agree that I would not like to meet with Bush, either. Maybe she's hoping she'll get one good swing in. (I'm just saying!)

I'd like to meet Bush. I'm just dying to see the presidential china...
