Desperate Working Mommas
Your one-stop site for fanatical television snarking, questionable political analysis, occasional attempts to address the parenting issues facing working mothers, and halfhearted promises to stop obsessing about the entertainment industry, already! Oh, not to mention the random bitching and moaning. There's always that.

Cruisin' with My Homies (Uno Dos Tres Cuatro Cinco Cinco Seis!)

For just how long will I find it hilarious when my youngest daughter sings-- in full-on soul-sistah abandon-- "Give it to me baby! Uh-huh, UH-HUH! Give it to me baby! Uh-huh, UH-HUH! Give it to me baby! Uh-huh, UH-HUH! And all the girlies say I'm pretty fly for a white guy!" along with The Offspring?

Oh, forever, I imagine.

Especially when her older sister joins in with, "He's getting a tattoo, yeah, he's getting ink done! He asked for a 13 but they drew a 31!" And she does that little head-bob thingy to the beat...

What?! Hey, it's not as if I don't turn down the music when they sing, "Now cruising in his Pinto, he sees homies as he pass, but if he looks twice, they're gonna kick his lilly (Good Momma turns down volume here)...!"

Which, okay, thinking about it, only inspires my son to shake his head at me and say disgustedly, "Right. It's not like we don't know what rhymes there, Mom."

But I'm all, "Whatever. You're nine."

See? So it's all good.

"Whatever. You're nine." Love it.

You know, I've always wondered if I'd be able to relate to my kids (if I had them) at certain ages. I mean, I know they're MY KIDS and all, but I've still wondered. Maybe other people don't worry about that, I dunno. But your relationship with your kids has really shown me how cool they are at all ages and how they really are these neat little people. (Granted, your kids are super-COOL, but still.) Thanks for that.

I forgot about that song! I am so downloading it for the van. The kids gotta know it.

And I don't think it's all good. I think it is all FUCKING GREAT.

CK, mrtl, bente: I'm not kidding, it was seriously the cutest, funniest thing! I wish TGIM could have see it, but he probably would have added it to The List anyway...

Kalki: they are funny, neat little people, my kids are! Definitely super-cool. And wow, do they have some crazy personalities, but it's fun to identify certain parts of myself, TGIM, and our extended family in them. They are a crazy mix, let me tell you! Although the youngest? She's all me, baby (in personality rather than looks-- she's all Daddy, there).

Aaaaw. Poor thing.

Amy, totally download it. It rocks in the car! And you will be a good momma because your kids will learn Spanish! Eh? EH?! Except they will from then on always repeat the number 5 when they count! Forever and ever, amen! But whatever, they are speaking another LANGUAGE!

Hee.
